    @smiermont @t4rwin Checking Wikipedia for the three remaining nuclear plants in Germany, at least one is "open cycle". But to add to that problem, from my understanding even the "close cycle" ones need water they can evaporate for cooling in the towers, and water is getting scarce.

      @smiermont @t4rwin It's mentioned in the article that about half of all water usage in Germany is used for cooling of nuclear, coal and gas power plants. Unfortunately it's not broken down any further.
